GATHERING

    O Sacred Head Now Wounded                                                                                                                 J.G. Walther

GREETING AND WELCOME

    I lift up my eyes to the hills;

        from where is my help to come?

    My help comes from the Lord,

        the maker of heaven and earth.

    The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

    And also with you.

INTROIT

    Hear My Prayer                                                                                                                                                   W. James

*CALL TO WORSHIP

    The Lord is merciful and gracious,

        slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.

    He does not deal with us according to our sins,

        nor requite us according to our iniquities.

    What shall I render to the Lord for all his bounty to me?

    I will lift up the cup of salvation

        and call on the name of the Lord.

*PRAYER  in unison

    O Lord, your wondrous birth means nothing unless we are born again,

        your death and sacrifice mean nothing unless we die to sin,

        your resurrection means nothing if you be risen alone.

    Raise and exalt us, O Savior,

        both now to the estate of grace and hereafter to the state of glory;

        where with the Father and the Holy Spirit

        you live and reign, God for ever and ever.  Amen.
